Tribute & Message From The Family

Loving Wife, Mother,Grandmother and Sister

Linda L. (Gentsch) Uglevich, age 71, of Maynard, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family and close friends. She was the loving wife of Joseph J. Uglevich Jr.

Born in Concord, Massachusetts on July 24, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Julius Charles and Anna (Haapanen) Gentsch. Linda was a lifelong Maynard resident. She graduated from Maynard High School, class of 1964. Linda went on to secretarial school in Boston. Linda and Joe married in August 1967 at Saint Casimirs Parish, Maynard. The couple met when they were only twelve and thirteen years old, having a true friendship for the last sixty years.

Linda worked for many years for the Digital Equipment Corporation as a Graphic Designer, she then went to work for McPherson for 10 years, and later she went on to work at the Franciscan Hospital for Children, where she enjoyed interacting with the children in the occupational therapy department. After retirement, she worked part time at The Timothy Wheeler Houses in Concord.

Family was most important to Linda. She enjoyed cooking and hosting weekly family dinners, especially the holidays and preparing a special dinner for family member's on their birthday. Her four grandchildren were her pride and joy. Whether it was day trips, swimming in Grammy and Grampy's pool or going to all of their sporting events, she was their biggest fan. Linda had a close group of girlfriends from Maynard and she looked forward to their yearly dinners at the Wayside Inn and Pickity Place in Mason, NH. She loved gardening and spending time in her yard and gardens. Linda and Joe enjoyed traveling, day trips to the beach and spending time in Ogunquit, Maine.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Joseph J. Uglevich of Maynard; her children; Joseph J. Uglevich III and wife Laura of Maynard, Cindy Campobasso and husband David of Lincoln; her beloved grandchildren Zachary, Joey, Leah and Tucker; as well as her sister Nancy Whitcomb of Acton. Linda was predeceased by her sister Janet Morse.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Linda on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord Street, Maynard. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10:00 am at Saint Bridget Parish One Percival Street, Maynard. Burial will follow at Saint Bridget Cemetery in Maynard.

So sorry to read about Linda's passing. I worked with Linda at General Radio back in the mid 1960's. Such a caring person, always helping others wherever and whenever she could. May God bless you all and may you find comfort in God's grace. With my deepest sympathy, Maureen (Dee) Steinmann

I am so very sorry to hear about Linda. When she was at the Franciscan, we had daily discussions about what was coming up in our gardens. There was always a vase with something beautiful from her yard on the counter. She was a gentle, generous soul who loved talking about her family even more than her flowers. When she retired from here we all missed her. I hope over time seeing her gardens will be a comfort. Please accept me deepest condolences.

Linda and I worked together at Franciscans. I gave her advise about exercise and she gave me advise about gardening! She loved to tell stories about her grandchildren and was so proud of them. Linda had one of the kindest hearts I've ever met. I am so sorry for your loss.
