Loving Husband, Father, Brother,Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Great great-grandfather

George W. Taylor, age 86, of Sudbury, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 17, 2019. He was the loving husband of Jean E. (Carmichael) Taylor for sixty-seven years.

Born in Waltham, Massachusetts on February 25, 1932, he was the son of the late Newton J. and Edna T. (Elliott) Taylor. George and Jean married on July 1, 1951 at the Sudbury United Methodist Church. They settled in Sudbury with their family in 1953. George worked briefly on the Sudbury Police force and in 1957 left to work for his father at N.J. Taylor & Sons. In 1976 he established G. W. Taylor & Sons in Sudbury. George was a hard worker and skilled Heavy Equipment operator. He loved working in his CASE 450 bulldozer and ran G. W. Taylor & Sons for thirty-one years retiring in 2007 at the age of 75.

Family was most important to George. He and his wife enjoyed traveling to St. Petersburg Florida for the past thirty two years. He enjoyed spending time in his gardens and caring for his tomato plants. George also enjoyed painting with oils and watercolor.

He is survived by his loving wife Jean E. Taylor of Sudbury, MA; his children Scott (Annemarie) Taylor of Troy, NH; Robin (Bob) Ulichney of Stow, MA; Elizabeth Rooney (Ken Stearns) of Sudbury, MA; and Newton Taylor of Sudbury, MA; grandchildren Judie, George, Scott Jr., Analise, Alan, Mike, Chris, Ashley, Cory, Zachary, and Emily; great grandchildren Benjamin, Bethany, Abigail and Antoinette; great great-grandchild D'Arcy; his siblings Jean Himmelman of Hudson, MA; John Taylor of Haines City, FL; many nieces and nephews and friends both at the Sudbury Senior Center and Lakeshore Park in St. Petersburg, FL. George was predeceased by his brother Robert Taylor and wife Virginia, his sister Jane Bell and husband Richard, son-in-law Peter T. Rooney and granddaughter-in-law Nicole Taylor.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial mass to honor and remember George on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Isidore Catholic Church 429 Great Rd, Stow.

In lieu of flowers donations in George's memory may be made to the charity of ones choice.
