Tribute & Message From The Family

Loving Father, Son, Grandfather and Brother

Donald E. "Biff" Watson Jr., age 61, of Fitchburg, formerly of Maynard, passed away with family by his side on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 after a long, hard fought battle. Throughout his illnesses he kept his sense of humor and remained the caring, kindhearted man loved by so many.

Born in Newton, Massachusetts on August 8, 1958, he is the son of Nettie (Keating) Watson and the late Donald E. Watson Sr. Biff was raised and educated in Maynard, graduating from Maynard High School, class of 1976. Upon graduation, Biff went on to attend Middlesex Community College, earning his Associates Degree in Business, class of 1979. Biff was a man of many talents and passions from being a salesman, working at Concord and Littleton Lumber to eBay enthusiast, selling and collecting coins and other collectables. Throughout his life he owned a few small businesses, a painting and drywall company, D. E. Custom Woodworking and finally Biff's Local in Clinton where he sold locally crafted goods from artisans, craftsmen and woodworkers.

Family and friends were the most important thing to Biff. He cherished attending his grandchildren's sporting events and playing poker and cribbage with friends. He took great pleasure in spending time around the campfire at his campsite in Biddeford, Maine. Biff was an outdoorsman. He loved fishing and boating off Plum Island as well as his other local freshwater fishing spots. He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox Fan and followed the teams loyally. Biff and Lois, his Fiancée, enjoyed playing darts together, going to concerts and attending craft shows on the weekends.

Biff is survived by his two daughters from his previous marriage to Kathleen (Kerrigan) Watson of Hudson MA; Kaitlyn and husband Joshua Rudd of Hudson, MA; Danielle Watson and her significant other Steven Muller of Hudson, MA; his mother, Nettie Watson of Chelmsford, MA; his beloved grandchildren, Jacob, Grayson, Harper and Owen; his siblings, David K. Watson of Chelmsford, MA; Heidi Feeley of Maynard, MA; his Fiancée, Lois Slamin of Fitchburg, MA; her daughter Katy Ross and her significant other Kristin Snow of Tennessee; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Biff on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord Street, Maynard. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:30 p.m. at The Pleasant Café 36 Main Street, Maynard MA.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Biff your beautiful daughte Katie and my awesome son Josh brought my family and your family together and for that I will be forever grateful. You were and always will be a number one dad and grandfather. Your children cherished you like no other. I loved watching how they took care of you towards the end. The love was beyond obvious. Rest well my friend. Your family will continue to grow and everyone will know about the great man Papa Biff is. Love you.

Biff! You were one of a kind. Our lives were blessed because you were part of it. You and Lowie were a perfect match. I know how much you appreciated everything she did for you because you always said it. Thank you my friend for that. But more importantly thank you for loving my Lowie. And for being a father figure to Katy. You will be missed but I know that you and Lois will continue to talk. I love you very much and will never forget you. Please watch over your eternal love Lois.

Dad, there will ALWAYS be a candle lit for you, FOREVER. Lit within me, Josh, and your Grandkids, Jacob Thomas, Grayson Edward & Harper Lyric and then passed down to the next group and on & on.

PS Don't worry about your how to fish lessons, Grayson said Papa Biff taught me, so I'll teach Harper & Baby Owen

Candle

To Nettie and Family - so sad to hear of Biff's passing, too young. My family were neighbors of the Watson's and babysitting Biff was one of my first adventures! I loved this little family and lost touch over the years. I would love an address to write Nettie. All my sympathy and love to Nettie and Biff's family - I loved him as a little guy, and so glad he had such a wonderful family.

Candle

To the Watson Family and friends. This notice broke my heart. I've known Biff since I was a little girl in Maynard. His family lived next to my grandparents (back in the days), he went to school with my older brothers. I haven't seen Biff in many years, but when I did it was always with that huge smile, big hug and "How's it going Bink?". I know he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. May memories keep his spirit alive in all who loved this larger than life man. My deepest sympathies go out to his Mom, children and all who loved him. Rest easy Big Guy!!

To Nettie, David, and Heidi,
We send you comforting vibes for the sadness you feel. We hope memories of happy times with Biff will bring you warmth and comfort.
We often recall happy days of long ago at Horseneck Beach and other campgrounds where "The Sounds of Silence" would gather for a weekend of unexpected consequences and lots of fun.
Our sincerest best wishes,
Mike and Arlene Bouvier
